Beginning Adult
The new Aikidoka trains thoroughly in the basics so that they can enjoy a long, safe and fruitful career in Aikido. Included are: getting out of the way, rolls, and simple effective techniques of self-defense.
Intermediate Adult
The Intermediate Aikidoka begins to practice many different techniques based on what they learned in the Beginning Class. The Aikidoka also develops a deeper understanding of the principles.
Advanced Adult
The Advanced Aikidoka learns to handle multiple attackers and is expected to more fully develop their understanding of the Fundamental Principles of Aikido.
Yudansha
Black Belt Level of training. Eligibility for Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) is achieved usually after the third or fourth year of training. Aikidoka in this level are expected to continue to perfect their skills and understanding of Aikido.
Children's Aikido
Aikido is an excellent self defense system for children. Children begin their training as young as eight years old. The focus is to help the child to develop confidence and self defense skills. The child becomes eligible for adult ranking at age 13.
Aiki-Sword/Aiki-Staff
Weapons can be used to destroy or to preserve. A Sword can cause fear or bring freedom. A Staff can be used as a weapon, or to save someone who is drowning. In Aikido, The Sword and Staff become a means for self-discipline and meditation in movement.
